Andrew Hemphill, port director with Peel Ports - Clydeport has been appointed as chairman of Cruise Scotland at the marketing association's AGM in Glasgow having previously served as vice chairman for the past two years.

Hemphill replaces outgoing chair Victor Sandison of the Port of Lerwick in Shetland who commented, 'Andrew has been extremely successful in his work in developing cruise business at Greenock. His knowledge and experience in the cruise industry will be of great value to Cruise Scotland.'

Other appointments confirmed at the Annual General Meeting included Rob Mason, head of cruise (Capital Cruising - Forth Ports) as vc; and the re-appointments of Alison Downs of Holy Loch Port Ltd as market development manager; Richard Alexander of European Cruise Service UK Ltd as treasurer; and Captain Iain Dunderdale of Cruise Highlands as secretary.

Sandison was also retained on the organisations' management committee in an advisory capacity.

'We have a great team spirit within Cruise Scotland and I look forward to continuing to develop the organisation and working closely with our members and other stakeholders to raise the profile of Scotland as a first-class cruise destination during my time as chair,' said Hemphill.
