The sale runs Sept. 28-Oct. 2.

With 11 ships departing Norway daily, there are plenty of sailings to choose from, spanning from Oct. 1 to March 31.

Example fares include $785 per person, double occupancy, for a six-day sailing from Kirkenes to Bergen in November and December ($974 in savings), and $914 for the seven-day reverse itinerary (savings of $1,005). The 12-day, classic round-trip voyages will be going for $1,489 to $1,889, depending on departure dates (with savings of $716 to $1,301).

In addition, travelers booking a 12-day winter sailing between October and February will be eligible for the 'Northern Lights Promise'—that the aurora borealis will appear during their 12-day cruise or they get another sailing free.

Five-day sale details are at www.hurtigruten.com/us/norway5daysale.
