MSC Seascape will operate seven-night cruises to Costa Maya, Cozumel and Roatán.

Ongoing terminal negotiations

The port and MSC Cruises have been in negotiations for some time about the planned fourth cruise facility in Galveston. Jan. 12 update: In a statement to Seatrade Cruise News, the line said it 'remains pleased with the ongoing negotiations surrounding the Port of Galveston’s future Terminal 16.'

'Pivotal moment'

'Expanding to Galveston with the magnificent MSC Seascape is a pivotal moment for us at MSC Cruises and for our guests,' Rubén Rodríguez, president, MSC Cruises USA, said. 'Expanding our US footprint makes our unique cruise experience more accessible to travelers in the central and western parts of the country and it illustrates our commitment to providing families in the region with unparalleled vacation options.'

He went on to tout MSC Seascape’s family-friendly amenities and award-winning entertainment.

Galveston cruises begin Nov. 9, 2025.

Cruise and stay

Galveston Port Director/CEO Rodger Rees said MSC Seascape offers 'a new cruise experience and opportunities to explore Galveston Island, a tropical Texas island rich with history, Victorian architecture, sparkling beaches and great restaurants. MSC passengers can come for a fabulous cruise and stay to discover our island treasures.'

MSC Seascape is currently based at PortMiami. The Seaside EVO-class ship was officialy named in New York festivities in December 2022.
