The Carnival Cruise Line ship is on a four-day cruise to Grand Bahama Island and Bimini that embarked Aug. 1.

Strengthening into hurricane

Debby was strengthening over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico and expected to become a hurricane before making landfall Monday along the coast of Florida's Big Bend.

Debby is projected to then cut across the state, putting JAXPORT in the National Hurricane Center's forecast cone.
