Plans call for the 148-passenger polar vessel to explore the country on two alternating itineraries, 'Wild Island Escape' and 'The Circumnavigation of Iceland.' On both, travelers will discover why Iceland is known as the 'land of fire and ice' as they explore its fjords, tundra, waterfalls and geothermal hot springs.

July 7 start

The Iceland season will kick off on July 7 with the six-day 'Wild Island Escape,' a compact adventure to the remote fjords and volcanic isles along the western coast. Rates begin at $5,180 per person, double occupancy, and include excursions, drinks and crew gratuities.

Departures of the 11-day 'A Circumnavigation of Iceland' are set to begin July 11 and include the wild western coast, Grimsey in the north, the rarely visited rugged east coast and the Westman islands in the south. Travelers will cruise into the remote Westfjords and spend time on the Arctic Circle spotting nesting seabirds, and hike on remote stretches of the coast. Rates begin at $11,460 per person, double occupancy, including excursions, bar tab and crew gratuities.

Both itineraries will provide opportunities for active adventure via Zodiac, kayak, hikes and walks daily. The trips will be accompanied by Lindblad naturalists, a National Geographic photographer, Lindblad-certified photo instructors and an undersea specialist.

Renowned Icelandic musicians

Lindblad's ethnomusicologist, Jacob Edgar, has invited renowned Icelandic musicians to perform on select departures throughout the summer.

Travelers 16 and over will be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for July voyages. On voyages starting in August, the vaccination mandate drops to 12 and older.
