12th year of operation at Liverpool Cruise Terminal

Transit calls by Costa Meditarranea and Norwegian Spirit mark significant new trade for Liverpool Cruise Terminal in what will be its 12th year of operation.

In terms of volume, the 2019 season promises to be the city’s busiest to date.

Work on a new terminal building to be developed on land adjacent to existing facilities is also scheduled to start next year.

Liverpool City Council, which operates the cruise facility, is aiming to win additional turnaround business with its new terminal. The £50m ($66m) scheme will give the city capacity to handle 3,600 guests.

In 2019, CMV and Fred.Olsen are the only operators offering embarkations and departure from Liverpool.

According to City Council figures, cruise business generated £7m ($8.9m) for Liverpool’s economy in 2018.
