Two specialist in tanker shipping and a marine consulting firm have formed a partnership to promote common activities between the three, including servicing the growing Indian LNG and gas industry. An area it is targetting is the supply of LNG bunkering solutions for vessels, including cruise ships in the future, a spokesman confirmed.

First generation family-owned shipping co Elektrans Group, along with affiliated German tanker operator Chemikalien Seetransport (CST) and the consultancy and engineering company Marine Service GmbH have set up a joint venture agreement Chemtrans India.

Elektrans Group offers a wide range of tailor made and integrated shipping services to its global customer base. The company owns and operates its own fleet of tanker vessels under Gauri Ships and has offices spread in Singapore and across key locations in India. Daniel Chopra executive chairman Elektrans said, 'We are proud to be associated with CST and Marine Service which have a solid reputation, globally, and have been providing pioneering solutions over many years, especially in the field of LNG.'

Marine Service, a leading engineering consultancy companies in the LNG and LPG sector has been involved in the planning or construction of about 20% of the current LNG carrier fleet as well as LNG bunkering, LNG propulsion systems and the engineering of nearly all vessel types.

Christian Krämer, md CST speaking for his company and Marine Service expressed, 'We have always been at the forefront of innovation, yet stand proud of our long history and proven track record within the maritime industry.
