Passengers scheduled to sail on board Marella Dream will have their bookings for summer next year transferred automatically to Marella Discovery, which will sail from Palma instead of Port Canaveral and cover Dream’s Mediterranean itineraries.

A difficult decision
‘With the ongoing travel restrictions for UK cruise lines still in place, we’ve taken the difficult decision to reshape our cruise programme for the upcoming seasons,' commented Chris Hackney, MD, Marella Cruises. ‘That means an early retirement for Marella Dream after 10 years of service and the redeployment of Marella Discovery from the US to Europe.’
Marella Cruises is yet to confirm if Dream will be sold or recycled. The cruise line is 'currently exploring multiple options' for the future of the vessel.
Hackney added that Marella has been ‘working hard to implement new health & safety measures to protect customers and crew.’
The cruise line published its 2021/22 itineraries earlier this month.
Customers who purchased tickets to sail on either vessel will be able to amend their booking for free, with a 10% incentive based on the total value of the original booking. Or they can receive a refund.
Before October 31 this year, all customers due to sail with Marella Cruises between November 16, 2020 and March 31, 2021 can reschedule their bookings for another TUI holiday without charge.
