Le Havre is looking forward to celebrations spread across five months in summer 2017 to mark the city's 500th anniversary, and finishing with a Final Party on October 8.

The port city's former transatlantic terminal, usually unoccupied, will be open throughout the festivities; serving as a bar and concert venue in the day and turned into a club in the evenings.

The fish market, situated at the heart of Saint-François district, will be given a new lease of life by designers.

The Fort de Tourneville will present a free concert program throughout the summer together with workshops.

A floating Zen Temple in the midst of the La Barre Dock will welcome visitors wanting to place a wish there.

On June 4 the city will witness the naming of MSC Meraviglia, whilst it will stage the final leg of the Tall Ships Race, August 31 - September 3.

Passengers can board Queen Mary 2 for a transatlantic crossing to New Tork between September 15 to 22.
