MSC World America will sail to the Caribbean from MSC Cruises' new PortMiami terminal starting in April 2025.
March 29, 2023
Arriving in 2025, the 205,700gt ship, MSC Cruises' third powered by LNG, will be its first LNG-powered vessel in North America. And it will have a new family experience, The Harbor, as well as the line's first Comedy Club.
The news was announced at Seatrade Cruise Global on Wednesday.
Weeklong eastern and western Caribbean cruises
MSC World America will sail seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises, all visiting Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas. The eastern route also includes Puerto Plata and San Juan, while the western itinerary features Costa Maya, Cozumel and Roatán.
MSC's new PortMiami terminal is set to become North America's largest cruise facility.
North American market commitment
'MSC World America will become the fourth of our new ships that we have deployed in the Caribbean for her inaugural season,' said Gianni Onorato, CEO, MSC Cruises. 'This is not only part of our commitment to growth in the North American market but also to bring our newest and most innovative ships to the region for our international guests from around the world.
Added Rubén Rodríguez, president, MSC Cruises USA: 'MSC World America will be another major milestone in our North American growth story and a fantastic new experience for our guests, whether they’re local or visiting from different parts of the world. Our goal with this ship is to go beyond her long list of features with thoughtful touches that make each guest’s cruise experience unique and memorable.'
MSC World America will be optimized for North American cruising with new restaurants, bars, public spaces and experiences — as MSC put it, 'European design meets American comfort.'
New: The Harbor
One of the new experiences, The Harbor, outdoors on Deck 20, is specially designed for kids and families to gather, play and relax together. Combining a wide variety of wet and dry adventures, The Harbor includes activities such as the aqua park, interactive water features, thrilling experiences and areas to relax over snacks and beverages.
The Harbor offers some of the best ocean view and activities such as the High Trail course and zip line and a children's playground. The Harbor will feature food trucks serving convenient snacks and refreshments so families can relax in one of five dwelling spaces with plenty of shade and seating.
MSC World America will create an eye-catching silhouette against the Miami skyline with its plumb bow rising vertically from the waterline and Y-shaped aft that opens onto the outdoor World Promenade.
2,626 passenger accommodations
The World Class ship will have 2,626 passenger cabins and span 22 decks. A reimagined outdoor World Promenade will offer dining, lounging and entertainment options along with sea views and LED light shows. The indoor World Galleria —l ined with bars, restaurants, shops and boutiques — will be topped with an LED and kinetic light ceiling.
Among the 13 restaurants are six specialty venues to include two new concepts alongside signature spots like Butcher’s Cut steak house, Kaito Sushi and Teppanyaki and Hola! Tacos & Cantina. The four main restaurants will serve globally inspired cuisine and American favorites.
Comedy Club
Among the entertainment spots, a Comedy Club will be new for MSC Cruises.
