MTN, provider of communications and content services for remote locations around the world, has recently signed contracts with three cruise operators: Lindblad Expeditions, Pearl Seas Cruises and Windstar for its passenger, crew, corporate communications and content services.

These products include communications, entertainment and content sharing, crew welfare solutions and corporate operations. 

‘MTN is constantly evolving communications solutions for the most customer-centric brands sailing to remote locations around the world,’ said Brent Horwitz, svp and general manager, cruise and ferry services, MTN. 

Working in partnership with National Geographic offering expeditions promoting conservation through its fleet of six ships and four seasonal charters, Lindblad Expeditions is cruising in Africa, Arctic Svalbard, Antarctica, Alaska, Asia & Pacific, Australia, Baja California, Central America, Europe, Galapagos, Indonesia, The Pacific Northwest, South America and The South Pacific.

Lindblad was the inaugural customer of the MTN OceanCast high-definition (HD) system for live streaming of events from maritime vessels.  Lindblad produced its first TV broadcast near Antarctica from its ship National Geographic Explorer earlier this year.  James Balog, the founder of Earth Vision Trust, did four live-to-tape interviews to North American network and affiliate news programs. 

Meanwhile Pearl Seas Cruises has selected MTN as service provider for 210 passenger Pearl Mist, which was recently launched in Baltimore and

Windstar isrenewing its ten-year relationship with MTN, including plans to leverage service on its two newest ships, Star Breeze and Star Legend, joining in 2015 bringing the total fleet to six.
