NCL cancels more Norwegian Spirit itineraries for Asia charters
Norwegian Cruise Line cancelled further Norwegian Spirit sailings in Alaska, Hawaii, South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, now stretching from from May 2024 to November 2025, ‘due to increased demand for charter business in Asia.’
Norwegian Sun will be deployed to the South Pacific and Australasia in 2024-25 to replace Norwegian Spirit.
As reported here last month, the company cancelled Norwegian Spirit’s Alaska sailings from July 3 through September 18, 2024, for an Asian charter.
Spirit to remain in Asia
A spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line said Norwegian Spirit will remain in Asia between scheduled charters ‘to offer our guests the opportunity to explore some of the most sought-after destinations in the region.’
Norwegian Spirit was scheduled to sail from Vancouver on September 25, 2024 to Hawaii, continuing on with Hawaii and South Pacific cruises and then to Asia and Australasia in December 2024.
Optimisation
‘All changes are being communicated to impacted guests,’ the spokesperson said.
‘We understand the inconvenience this may cause to affected guests and we appreciate the understanding of our loyal guests and travel partners as we navigate this fleet redeployment and optimisation.'
