Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings committed to a higher passenger guarantee and to building an additional parking facility at PortMiami.

NCLH guaranteed about 25m more passenger movements, from approximately 50m to nearly 75m, during the initial 30-year term of a new agreement.

New parking facility

The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners also approved NCLH to assume responsibility for the operations and maintenance of the existing Cruise Terminal B Garage, as well as the development of a new multipurpose parking facility.

This will add about 2,000 parking spaces and is scheduled for completion by fourth quarter 2028.

Growing partnership

'This agreement highlights our strong and growing partnership with PortMiami,' said Dan Farkas, EVP, general counsel and chief development officer, NCLH. 'With increased passenger commitments and new infrastructure management and development, we are ensuring that PortMiami continues to lead as a world-class hub for the cruise industry and a key driver of our local economy.'

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava thanked NCLH for 'their commitment to growing their passenger business while enhancing the customer experience at PortMiami. By collaborating with our valued partners and investing in future ready transportation projects, we are ensuring our global position as "Cruise Capital of the World,"' she said.
