This highlights its abundance of longer cruises from US homeports.
Four US homeports for longer sailings
Those who want to avoid a long-haul flight can sail round-trip from Boston, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego or Seattle.
HAL claims more cruises longer than 15 nights round-trip from the US to international destinations than any other cruise line, visiting 225 ports in 91 countries.
Avoiding unpredictability of air travel
'Over the past year we've seen a shift in the way people are vacationing due to the unpredictability of air travel and desire to explore more, and there's higher interest when it comes to longer voyages from our US homeports,' said Kacy Cole, VP marketing and e-commerce, Holland America Line. 'Travelers love the idea of discovering the islands of the South Pacific or Africa's exotic shores with just a simple drive or short flight to one our homeports.'
Cruise Critic survey
A recent Cruise Critic survey found 82% of US-based respondents would prefer to book an international cruise that sails from a domestic port than to fly to an international port.
HAL offers four 'grand voyages,' all round-trip from the US, for travelers who want to circle the world or explore Africa, South America or Australia. Monthlong cruises include a round-trip itinerary from San Diego visiting Hawaii, Tahiti and the Marquesas, or a round-trip from Boston visiting Greenland, Iceland, Norway and the British Isles.
In addition, HAL offers an abundance of cruises 15 or fewer nights to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Canada, Alaska and Mexico, These sail round-trip from the US or from Vancouver, BC.
