New plans for Celebrity Eclipse’s maiden voyage to Australia

Celebrity Eclipse’s cancelled maiden season Down Under is now scheduled to begin in October next year
Celebrity Cruises released a first look at plans to bring Celebrity Eclipse to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific for a maiden season from October 18, 2021, through to April 17, 2022.

Melbourne aborted

Plans to make the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Eclipse the company’s first ship to be home-ported at Station Pier in Melbourne from December 2020 until April 2021 were dashed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Teasing details

Now Celebrity has given ‘teasing details’ of a (southern hemisphere) summer programme of 19 voyages covering the top destinations in Australasia and the South Pacific.

Tim Jones, VP and MD APAC, said the itineraries are a result of market research and travel partner feedback.

‘The '21-22 Celebrity Eclipse season will be far from ordinary, truly bringing to life the amazing destinations we visit,’ Jones said.

There will be ‘Sun and Beach Escapes,’ ‘Food and Wine Classics’ and ‘Five-Star Getaways.’

More information coming

Jones said more details will be released over the coming months.
