Carnival Cruise Line hosted local officials, travel partners and media for a day of guided tours and lunch, and Southampton port officials and Celebration’s senior officers participated in a traditional plaque and key ceremony.

Christine Duffy on hand

Carnival President Christine Duffy hosted a 'Let’s Celebrate' event in the cruise terminal that included a ceremonial ribbon-cutting welcoming the first passengers aboard. Carnival Celebration will now head to Miami on a 14-day trans-Atlantic voyage. The ship's official naming will take place Nov. 20 at PortMiami.

Just days ago, Carnival took delivery of Carnival Celebration from Meyer Turku before Capt. Vincenzo Alcaras, Hotel Director Pierre Camilleri, Chief Engineer Fabian Gervaise and the 1,800 crew sailed to the UK.
