The ship grounded March 14 in the channel bed as it departed the new Taino Bay port at Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. It was refloated with the help of tugs, returned to the pier and offloaded passengers then deadheaded to homeport Port Canaveral.

Norwegian initially reported 'minor' damage to Norwegian Escape's hull and hasn't provided further specifics.

'We anticipate that the issue will be resolved shortly and will communicate updates as appropriate,' a company spokesperson said.
