Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Sun will make her Australian debut in Brisbane on December 18 and Melbourne on December 21, after an 18-day voyage from Papeete.

The 1,936-passenger ship will operate new NCL itineraries and make inaugural visits to Port Douglas and Townsville in Far North Queensland and Aitutaki in the Cook Islands.

Norwegian Sun will operate new NCL itineraries with maiden calls

Her programme includes a 14-day Cairns to Lautoka voyage departing April 23 and August 20, 2025.

She will visit Airlie Beach, Townsville, Noumea, Lifou, Port Vila, Mystery Island and Dravuni en route to Lautoka.

Cairns and Lautoka will become the first turnaround ports for NCL.

The programme also includes a 14-day sailing to Cairns from Bali on April 9, 2025, calling at Lombok, Komodo and Darwin.

‘This new collection of voyages provides even more choice for those who prefer to explore close to home with more South Pacific destinations than ever before,’ APAC VP and MD Ben Angell said.

Angell said Norwegian Sun will be joined by Norwegian Spirit, giving the company two ships in Australian waters.
