P&O Cruises Australia now paused to mid-September
P&O Cruises Australia’s rolling pause has been extended again from the end of July until September 17.
The current human biosecurity emergency which restricts outbound international travel and the entry of foreign-flagged cruise ships within Australian territory is in place until June 17, but has repeatedly been extended on a quarterly basis since it was introduced on March 18 last year.
P&O Cruises Australia’s last pause was introduced at the end of March when the company cancelled voyages to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands for the remainder of the year.
President Sture Myrmell said the new pause has been made so that passengers can plan their holidays with as much certainty as possible.
Support for CLIA Australasia
‘We are supporting our industry association as it works with governments and public health authorities to develop a framework for the successful resumption of cruising,’ Myrmell said.
‘We look forward to the day when a pathway is confirmed for cruising’s return so that we can welcome everyone back on board.
‘For now we continue to assist our guests in every way we can in spite of the current uncertainty.'
