Each brand president, who will continue to report to Carnival UK president Josh Weinstein, will be responsible for overall brand leadership, the end-to-end guest experience and future strategies.

Additional roles for Delamere-White and Struthers

The sales and marketing functions of both brands have been consolidated with Alex Delamere-White adding marketing communications, customer relationship management and digital to his P&O Cruises trade relations responsibilities, with an expanded team reporting into him.

Cunard’s current vice president of marketing, Angus Struthers, takes on an additional new UK sales role working with the trade to grow Cunard’s UK business.

Delamere-White and Struthers will each have the title vice president sales and marketing and will continue to report to Ludlow and Palethorpe, respectively.

These two new roles will ensure consistency of communication to guests and alignment of third party branding and sales messages across the travel trade, which Carnival UK said remains the most vital channel of distribution.

'These moves enable us to sharpen our focus, strive towards our long-term goals and progress our talent within the business,' Weinstein said.

Edgington and Rousham to exit

As part of the changes P&O Cruises vice president of marketing Christopher Edgington and Cunard vice president of UK sales and international development David Rousham will be leaving.

'Christopher has been instrumental in our brand marketing over a period which has seen record results for our business and created high visibility of cruising to a whole new audience,' Ludlow said. 'This sets us up very well for the next stage of our growth. I wish him every success in the next stage of his career.'

Palethorpe said: 'David has delivered strong growth for Cunard from our international regions and has forged new relationships around the globe. I wish him very well for the future.'

World-class team

'This is a world-class management team leading world-class holiday companies,' Weinstein said. 'Both brands are on the cusp of significant growth and with Paul at the helm of P&O Cruises and Simon leading Cunard, we have set ourselves up to rise to the occasion. They and their management teams have got the capabilities and talent to help us build a very bright future.'
