Paul Goodwin is leaving in Holland America Group changes
Longtime Holland America senior executive Paul Goodwin is leaving at the end of the year following organizational changes at Holland America Group and its Princess Cruises, Holland America Line and Seabourn brands.
November 6, 2019
Goodwin is EVP on-board revenue and port and shore operations for the Group. He has been with Holland America for the past 16 years, starting as VP on-board revenue management in 2003. He began his career with Holland America in the early 1980s as a manager in the Vancouver operation then went on to executive roles with Seven Seas Cruise Line and Radisson Seven Seas Cruises.
Brands will assume more direct management of certain areas
Several departments are being restructured to more efficiently manage operations and to give the individual brands more direct management of on-board revenue and other guest-facing areas of their business that were previously managed in a shared services model, a company spokeswoman said.
Beth Bodensteiner and Sally Andrews add responsibilities
Beth Bodensteiner, SVP and chief commercial officer, Holland America Line, oversees revenue management, Alaska Land + Sea Journeys, deployment and global marketing. She now takes on responsibility for shore excursion pricing, casino, on-board revenue analytics and customer service.
Sally Andrews, SVP and chief brand and communications officer for Holland America Line, who oversees all internal and external messaging, creative and brand reputation, has also added responsibility for organic social media (paid social media remains under Bodensteiner in global marketing).
The shore excursion and port/shore operation teams will continue as a shared service function. However, all pricing and marketing of shore excursions will now be managed by the brand teams.
Retail and photo report to Bill Brand
The on-board retail and photo teams will now report to Bill Brand, chief retail officer for Carnival Corp. Brand reports directly to Jan Swartz, group president, Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia, with dotted-line reporting to Orlando Ashford, president, Holland America Line, and Rick Meadows, president, Seabourn. All other on-board revenue functions will transition to the individual brand teams.
Eva Jenner and Charlie Dunwoody are leaving
In separate Holland America brand news, VP Sales Eva Jenner and Senior Director of National Accounts Charlie Dunwoody are leaving in what Ashford called a restructuring of the sales organization. Going forward, Ashford will be overseeing the North American sales team.
Jenner has led North American sales since 2013. Before that, she was director, legal and assistant general counsel, supporting Holland America Line and Seabourn. She joined the company in 2005.
Dunwoody has been with Holland America more than 14 years.
