P&O Cruises extends pause to April

Iona's Norway fjords cruises have been affected
P&O Cruises will not resume sailing until spring next year, owing to uncertainty around European ports of call.

Cancelled sailings include the Norwegian fjords and Atlantic islands on board Iona, the line’s newest vessel.

‘With hopeful news headlines, clearly we do not want to extend our pause in operations any further than absolutely necessary,’ said Paul Ludlow, president, P&O Cruises, ‘but given the ever changing guidance around international travel and the varying regulations in many European ports of call we felt it prudent to cancel these additional dates.’

Strong demand

Ludlow commented that with final payments due for each of the affected cruises, ‘it was the right thing to do' but added P&O's 2022 cruises, which went on sale earlier this month, received 'strong demand, showing great confidence in cruising in the future.’

Passengers booked on a cancelled cruise can receive a 125% future cruise credit or a 100% refund.
