Last September, Deutschland became the first cruise ship to visit the Molo Caligoliano and Rade berth which can handle ships up to 320mtr in length.

The facility has an IMO approved security plan, offering waste collection and water supplies, informs Fausto Silvestro, responsible for the implementation of the security plan at Pozzuoli.

‘The call was a huge success with passengers visiting the archaeological, historical and cultural heritage of the Campi Flegrei region,’ he told Seatrade Insider, ahead of Pozzuoli’s attendance at this year’s Cruise Shipping Miami.

Pozzuoli is the largest municipality in Campi Flegrei. Tourist attractions include Rione Terra, Solfatara, the Temple of Serapis, Castle of Baia, Flavian Amphitheatre, and Sibyl’s Cave.

The island of Procida is about 15 minutes away by boat, and Ischia and Capri can be reached by boat in 30 and 40 minutes respectively.
