Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess and Diamond Princess made a historic first meeting in Sydney Harbour on Saturday.

‘We’re delighted to be in Sydney with our sister ship Diamond Princess,’ Crown Princess Capt. Mario Consentino said.

‘It’s the first time our ships are together in Sydney and it is also the first time I have seen my colleague Capt. Michele Bartolomei of Diamond Princess in almost 10 years,’ Capt. Cosentino said.

Kayakers’ encounter

Sydney Kayak Experience tour guide Tierna Maguire said having both ships in Sydney Harbour on the same day had enhanced her guests’ experience.

‘A kayaking encounter with two ships at sunrise on Sydney Harbour is a double bonus for our guests,’ Maguire said.

Crown Princess’ contribution

This season Crown Princess is set to contribute more than A$120m to the national economy, making 78 visits to 21 ports across Australia.

This is a record for any Princess ship.

While in port, Crown Princess took on 140 tonnes of local fresh produce, supporting Australian farmers.

Homeported in both Melbourne and Brisbane over the 2024-2025 season, Diamond Princess will make four calls in Sydney before returning to Japan in March for the Japanese summer.
