ANSA said the remains, found in a cabin on Deck 8, had been hidden by furniture until now. The ship is being prepared for breaking near Genoa.

Rebello, a waiter from India, was among 32 people who died after Concordia hit the rocks off Giglio Island in January 2012.

Meanwhile, in Grosseto, the trial of Capt. Francesco Schettino continues.
