Capt. Trevor Haworth, who died last year, and Geraldine operated $5 a head coffee cruises on Sydney Harbour in a chartered vessel before they launched a Great Barrier Reef programme in 1992 and Captain Cook Cruises Fiji in 1996.

They also operated Murray River cruises with the purpose-built paddlewheeler Murray Princess and two-night weekend cruises around Sydney Harbour and along the Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers with the 120-passenger Captain Cook’s Explorer.

In 2011 Captain Cook Cruises was sold to the Adelaide-based SeaLink Travel Group, with the exception of the Fiji operation which is run by their daughter, Jackie Haworth-Charlton.
