Resorts World Cruises begins Jakarta homeporting

Resorts World One arrived in Jakarta Sunday to begin a series of roundtrips, making Resorts World Cruises the first international line to homeport in Indonesia.

The ship will be offering four roundtrip five-night cruises from Jakarta's Tanjung Priok to Singapore and Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur) with departures on June 16, 21 and 26 and July 1.

Resorts World Cruises and Indonesian authorities held a celebration to mark the new service with cultural performances and souvenirs to welcome passengers.

Shipboard event

Aboard ship an event hosted 250 attendees, led by Capt. Hendri Ginting M.M., director of marine safety & seafarers, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, and Itok Parikesit, director of special interest tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia. Resorts World Cruises representatives included Executive Chairman Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, CEO/Executive Director Colin Au and President Michael Goh, as well as the operational management team.

Goh said the response to the cruises has been very positive, and thanked the Indonesian government, travel partners and customers.

'Together, we are pioneering the growth of the Indonesian cruise tourism industry for both inbound and outbound,' he said.

Halal dining options

Resorts World One is certified as a halal-friendly cruise ship and provides Muslim travelers with cuisine available at a designated section at one of the complimentary restaurants.

Elsewhere, a wide range of Asian and international cuisine is served across a variety of restaurants.
