The 1,800-passenger Resorts World One will operate new Japan itineraries of three, four and six days to Okinawa and to the main islands of Kyushu, Honshu and Shikoku.

World Expo 2025 Osaka

Resorts World One will be the first cruise line to depart from Keelung on Sundays to offer 15 departures of its six-day Osaka (via Wakayama)-Kochi cruise, which coincides with the World Expo 2025 Osaka held until Oct. 13, 2025. Some 28m visitors are projected. Passengers can purchase shore excursions with pre-arranged tickets to the massive 155-hectare expo site.

All cruises during the peak holiday season in July and August will be to Osaka and Kochi so families can take their children to see exhibits from 161 countries at the Expo.

Diverse shore excursions

Other excursions visit historical Kyoto and the diverse attractions of Wakayama, which has the UNESCO World Heritage site of Koyasan, a sacred place of more than 50 temples built over 1,200 years ago; Wakayama Castle, a center of historical happenings; onsens (hot springs) and dining at some of the best seafood restaurants in Japan.

In the Shikoku region, Kochi is a hidden gem in the Shimanto River Valley. Other attractions include Kochi Castle, Chikurin-ji Temple, Harimaya Bridge and Ryugu Shrine. Kochi's distinctive cuisine is Katsuo no Tataki, sliced and seared bonito fish.

Resorts World Cruises will also reprise its six-day itineraries from Keelung to Okinawa and Kyushu in 2025 on eight Sunday departures for the cruise to Kumamoto, Kagoshima and Naha and the Nagasaki-Kagoshima-Naha cruise.

Besides that, four-day Okinawa cruises departing on select Sundays will also call at both Naha and Miyakojima. And weekend getaways include the three-day Okinawa (Ishigaki or Miyakojima) itinerary with Friday departures (plus some Wednesday sailings).

Cruisers from across Asia expected

These new itineraries are expected to increase the inbound fly-cruise numbers from all parts of Asia. International travelers can pair a stay in Taiwan with a three-, four, six- or eight-day cruise to Japan.
