The vessel was built in 2004 as Birka Paradise and renamed by her owner Eckerö to Birka Stockholm in 2013. The 35,000gt ship carries 1,500 passengers and 200 crew on Baltic mini-cruises from homeport Mariehamn.

The call is the first of two in 2015 in an effort to expand itineraries.

Passengers on this cruise - almost all from Sweden - embarked on various tours to Rostock and the countryside. 'We are pleased to provide  a wide range of tours like the famous "Molli" train experience to the guests of Birka Cruises,' said Napp, overseeing the tour operation. The next visit for Birka Stockholm in Rostock will be  on August 19, 2015.
