Royal Caribbean International extended the Singapore season for Quantum of the Seas through February 2022 and said vaccination may become part of the protocols in the months ahead.

This marks the third Singapore extension for Quantum, which returned to cruising in December 2020

82,000 travelers, zero COVID cases

To date, on 60-plus cruises, more than 82,000 passengers have sailed with zero occurrences of COVID-19 on board.

50% capacity

In line with the recent government regulations, the ship is sailing at 50% passenger capacity, and people from different households have the option of traveling in groups of up to five. Safe distancing measures remain in place.

Quantum offers three- and four-night cruises to nowhere.

'Overwhelming demand'

'We are thrilled to have the opportunity to extend Quantum’s ultimate ocean getaway through early next year, providing Singapore residents with more time to relax and unwind,' said Angie Stephen, managing director, Asia-Pacific, Royal Caribbean International. She added: 'Quantum has many fans in Singapore, and there continues to be an overwhelming demand for sailings.'

Health safety protocols include pre-departure wellness screenings, PCR tests, contactless embarkation and disembarkation, and enhanced HVAC filtration systems and sanitization.

Vaccinated sailings in next few months?

Vaccination for COVID-19 is currently not required on these cruises, however that may change.

'We are continuing to be nimble as we follow the science and work closely with the Singapore government and health authorities to evaluate, update and adhere to prevailing measures,' Stephen said. 'In the next few months, as more Singapore residents become fully vaccinated, we anticipate that we’ll begin sailing with fully vaccinated crew and vaccinated guests age 12 and older alongside children who are not yet eligible for vaccines.'
