Explorer of the Seas will call at Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Monday and St. John, New Brunswick, on Tuesday.

'We appreciate that this is a significant change to the original itinerary and we appreciate our guests’ understanding and cooperation,' a Royal Caribbean spokeswoman said. As a goodwill gesture, the company will provide each stateroom with an on-board credit. A letter with the credit amount will be delivered to staterooms.

Passengers who choose not to sail will get a future cruise certificate for 25% of the fare paid. This may be used for a cruise on any Royal Caribbean ship.

Due to Hurricane Gonzalo, the local authority in Bermuda has asked that tourists not attempt to visit the island over the next few days while recovery efforts are under way, the Royal Caribbean spokeswoman said.

Explorer of the Seas would have arrived at King's Wharf on Monday.

The ship is now scheduled to be in Halifax from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and in Saint John from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
