Since then the ship has been operating safely at a reduced propulsion capacity and continues to navigate at lower speeds.

Scenic Eclipse’s Azipods are maintained by the Swiss ABB Group which has prioritised securing a dry dock to carry out the maintenance from October 28 until early November.

Ready for Antarctica

The ship is due to return to full operation for the Antarctica season, beginning late November.

Three cruises cancelled

Meantime, three voyages have been cancelled — a 12-night Nassau-Bridgetown voyage departing October 24, an 11-night equator crossing between Bridgetown and Rio de Janeiro on November 5 and an 11-night Rio to Buenos Aires on November 16.

‘Our reservations and sales teams are working with our valued travel advisors and impacted guests to adjust their travel arrangements,’ a company statement said.
