Riga revises 'Covidpass' requirement

Effective now, cruise passengers who have a valid European Digital COVID-19 Certificate will not have to fill out an electronic 'Covidpass' form when entering Riga seaport.

Amended regulations stipulate cruise ships to check the validity of the COVID-19 certificate presented by their passengers. Those without a valid certificate will be required to complete a standard electronic 'Covidpass' procedure to enter Latvia.

On Friday, Riga welcomed Oceania Cruises’ Marina, carrying 400 passengers, mostly from the US, but also Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany and other European countries.

Marina resumed sailing Aug. 29 from Copenhagen and has called Rostock, Ronne, Karlskrona, Klaipeda and Riga so far, with further stops planned at Tallinn, Kotka and Helsinki prior to the cruise ending in Stockholm Sept. 8.

San Diego restart for Disney Wonder

Disney Wonder is scheduled to resume sailing from San Diego Oct. 1 with three- and four-night itineraries. Passengers 12 and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Also, beginning Sept. 13, all Disney Cruise Line passengers — regardless of age and vaccination status —  are required to take a COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics at the terminal before boarding.
