Silver Origin's inaugural Galápagos voyage is now planned for Nov. 7. Silversea had hoped sailings could start Aug. 22 but this was delayed by the coronavirus situation in Ecuador.

In Manta, not reflagged yet

Silver Origin is in Manta, where crew training and familiarization processes are under way. The ship has not been reflagged to Ecuador from the Bahamas yet.

Purpose-built for the Galápagos, Silver Origin was delivered in June following an extraordinary effort by De Hoop Shipyard, which voluntarily worked through the COVID-19 shutdown. Low water and high water conditions in the Netherlands were also overcome.

The 100-passenger Silver Origin will take over year-round sailings from Silver Galapagos.
