These are open to travelers fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

With the passage of the Alaska Tourism Restoration Act, which enables foreign-flag ships to visit the state without the normally required international port call, Silver Muse will offer round-trip sailings from Seattle starting July 29.

First ultra-luxury line in Alaska this year

This makes Silversea the first ultra-luxury cruise line to operate in Alaska this summer.

Meanwhile, Silver Shadow will circumnavigate Iceland with new all-Icelandic itineraries, Three 10-day voyages will sail from Reykjavik, beginning July 30.

The news follows Silversea's plans to resume in Greece and the Galápagos from June.

'Exceptional demand'

'The return to service is fast gaining momentum, and we’ve seen exceptional demand for travel in Alaska and Iceland,' Silversea President and CEO Roberto Martinoli said.

Sailing round-trip Seattle, Silver Muse will operate varied 10- and 11-day itineraries to destinations like Sawyer Glacier, Mendenhall Glacier, Ketchikan, Juneau, Wrangell, Skagway and Sitka.

Additional-fee experiences in each include a helicopter trek to Mendenhall Glacier for a guided walk on its surface, a three-hour whale quest from Auke Bay via catamaran and, from Skagway, a vintage train ride along the White Pass and Yukon Route.

Iceland adventures

Silversea had previously announced its largest collection of voyages in Iceland as part of its 2021/22 program. A revised selection following the pandemic, the three round-trips from Reykjavik include calls at Grundarfjordur, Isafjordur, Siglufjordur, Akureyri, Husavik, Seydisfjordur and the island of Heimaey.

Among the included shore excursions are a half-day tour from Akureyri to discover Iceland’s vast lava fields, bubbling hot pools, hissing fumaroles, breathtaking waterfalls, and acclaimed birdlife, and, from Grundarfjordur, a boat tour to see a large colony of nesting Atlantic puffin. On an all-terrain vehicle adventure from Heimaey, travelers will visit the Vestmannaeyjar Archipelago and the Eldfell Volcano.
