Destinations include Hong Kong, which previously has allowed only cruises to nowhere, and ports in Sri Lanka and Vietnam, among others, aboard four ships. The first Hong Kong call is scheduled in January.

Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Muse are scheduled to cruise in the region between December and May.

The 596-passenger Silver Muse will become the first to return when it departs Singapore Dec. 2.

'One of the final pillars' in return to service

'Asia has long constituted an important sailing region for Silversea Cruises and our guests are eager to return ... Our upcoming Asia season represents one of the final pillars in our global return to service,' said Barbara Muckermann, chief commercial officer, Silversea.

The deployment includes many overnight calls and late departures from port, she added.

25 voyages

The season comprises 25 voyages ranging from 10 to 20 days.

Some highlights include Silver Spirit's Mumbai to Singapore voyage on Dec. 20, a 16-day sailing that will carry the celebrated travel writer Paul Theroux as an enrichment lecturer. The itinerary includes Cochin, Sri Lanka’s Colombo and Trincomalee on overnight calls, Thailand’s Phuket Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur) and Malacca in Malaysia. Silver Spirit arrives in Singapore Jan. 4 for an overnight call.

Hong Kong to Singapore

Silver Spirit's Jan. 19 cruise from Hong Kong sails to Vietnam with calls at Ha Long Bay overnight, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City for two nights, before arriving at Singapore. The 10-day cruise offers an optional mid-voyage land program to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Several pre- and post-cruise land programs are available, as well.

Hong Kong round-trip

Departing round-trip from Hong Kong on Feb. 12, Silver Spirit will meander through the Philippines before setting course for Vietnam. Over 14 days, passengers will have the opportunity to explore Vigan (Salomague Port), Manila on an overnight call, Romblon Island, Coron (Palawan), Chan May (Hue/Da Nang), Da Nang and Ha Long Bay overnight.

Singapore to Mumbai

Silver Spirit's March 8 cruise will journey from Singapore to Thailand, India and Sri Lanka, with overnight calls at Chennai, Colombo and Mumbai. Further destinations include Phuket, Trincomalee, Cochin, New Mangalore and Mormugao (Goa). Travelers will have the chance visit Angkor Wat temple during an optional five-night pre-cruise overland program or explore the Taj Mahal, Agra and Delhi during an optional three-night post-cruise adventure.
