Steel cut for third Quantum-class ship, Ovation of the Seas

The first piece of steel for Ovation of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International's third Quantum-class ship, was cut at Meyer Werft in Papenburg on Thursday.

Delivery is scheduled in autumn 2016. Meyer is also building Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas.
 
Quantum of the Seas will debut this autumn, sailing from Bayonne, N.J.'s Cape Liberty, followed by Anthem of the Seas in spring 2015, sailing from Southampton in the UK. 

Each 167,800gt Quantum ship has 4,180 lower berths.
