Three new ships, new routes for American Cruise Lines in 2023

As well, the company is expanding with 10 new itineraries and 21 new ports for the 2023/24 season.

Everything is outlined in American's newly published 2023/24 brochure, and all cruises are available to book online.

Next year, the line will have 17 small vessels exploring 35 states on more than 50 itineraries, including over 11 on the Mississippi River alone. All the small ships and riverboats accommodate fewer than 200 passengers and can be viewed via virtual tours on American’s website.

New vessels

The new vessels include a modern riverboat for the Mississippi in April. American Serenade is the 175-passenger sister of 2022's American Symphony.

The 109-passenger Coastal Cats, American Eagle and American Glory, are the first in a planned series of 12 Project Blue 'go anywhere' ships with catamarn hulls. They are scheduled to sail East Coast itineraries beginning in August and October.

Fresh itineraries

American is also introducing 10 new itineraries that include 21 new ports, ranging from San Francisco, California, to Sag Harbor, New York, to Key West, Florida.

New cruises include the company’s first California sailing, an eight-day round-trip San Francisco Bay itinerary that highlights Napa Valley and wine country. Also new: a 15-day 'National Parks & Legendary Rivers' itinerary that marries an eight-day cruise on the Columbia and Snake rivers with a seven-day land program through Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.

An eight-day Tennessee rivers cruise between Chattanooga and Nashville is being offered for the first time, too. In 2024, American will operate new cruises in Florida and the Keys as well as several new itineraries highlighting New England and Maine.
