Four-day costume party on Mein Schiff 6

The carnival-themed sailing will depart from Palma de Mallorca on April 28 and take passengers to Marseilles by way of Barcelona. Typical carnival celebrations—popular in cities like Cologne, Dusseldorf and Mainz—will be held, complete with a costume competition, dance lessons and carnival bands like Klüngelköpp, Boerney & die Tri Tops, Jeckometer, Höhner and Bläck Fööss.

TUI is promoting Mein Schiff 6 as 'Jeckliner' for that cruise, from the German expression 'Jeck' for a carnival-goer. The four-day cruise, priced starting at €1,099 per person in a balcony cabin, has deliberately been scheduled outside the typical carnival season between Nov. 11 and Ash Wednesday, 40 days before Easter, so as to bag key entertainers who would be engaged otherwise.

'Schlager' cruise on Mein Schiff 3

From Sept. 7-11 next year, Mein Schiff 3 will sail a four-day 'schlager' pop music cruise round-trip from Kiel to Gothenburg and Copenhagen. TUI teamed up with the CC Cruise Company to present music of this style from five decades.

Celebrities expected for this 'Schlagerliner' cruise include Vanessa Mai, voXXclub, Eloy de Jong, Nicole, Kerstin Ott, Roberto Blanco, Bernhard Brink, Michael Holm and Laura Wilde, all popular in the German-speaking coutries. TUI is selling the cruise at all-inclusive prices starting at €899 per person in an inner double cabin.
