Two Costa ships will transfer to new CSSC Carnival China brand
Costa Atlantica and Costa Mediterranea are going to be transferred into CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Ltd. to start this new China cruise brand, a joint venture between Carnival Corp. and China State Shipbuilding Corp. (CSSC).

Costa Atlantica by end of next year
The 85,861gt, 2,210-berth Costa Atlantica is scheduled to move to the new Chinese cruise line by the end of 2019. Costa Atlantica's sister ship, the 2,114-berth Costa Mediterranea, will be transferred at a date to be announced.
The plan to start the cruise brand with existing ships from the Carnival family was announced early on in the joint venture.
First newbuild for the brand to come in 2023
The news comes in tandem with the signing of contracts for the first two newbuilds for CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Ltd. The delivery of the first of those 133,500gt newbuilds is set for 2023.
