Un-Cruise details new Galápagos program with Amazon, Machu Picchu options
Seattle-based Un-Cruise Adventures outlined its first foray into Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands and Quito, with eight departures planned in 2016. Add-ons include a four-night Amazon basin rain forest cruise and a six-night excursion to Peru and Machu Picchu.

The nine-night 'Unequaled Ecuador! Colonial Quito & Galápagos Islands' begins with a two-night stay at Quito's Casa Gangotena, a 31-room boutique hotel. Guided walking tours explore the historic city. A seven-night island cruise aboard the 48-passenger La Pinta sails from San Cristóbal Island and visits Española, Genovesa, Santa Cruz, Bartolomé, Santiago and Chinese Hat Islet.
Departure dates in 2016 are Feb. 17, March 16 and 30, May 25, July 6, Aug. 3, Sept. 14 and Nov. 9.
Included are two nights in a deluxe hotel, two commercial flights between Quito and the Galápagos, port fees/taxes, entry fees to national parks/preserves, exclusive transfers, tours and adventure activities; breakfast, lunch and private dinner in Quito; and premium spirits, wine and beer on board La Pinta. Rates begin at $8,995 per person, double occupancy.
The Amazon pre-cruise option features a tour on the 36-passenger Anakonda along the Napo River, exploration of the Pañacocha Biological Corridor by canoe and by foot on jungle trails and a day inside Yasuni National Park, a UNESCO Biological Reserve.
Flights between Quito and Coca, exclusive transfers, one night luxury hotel in Quito and three nights aboard the boat with meals and activities are included. Rates start at $2,295 per person, double occupancy.
A six-night post-cruise tour explores the Sacred Valley of the Incas starting in Urubamba. Participants stay two nights at Sol y Luna Lodge and Spa where activities include exploring Incan ruins, a market, lunch at Wayra Ranch and a Peruvian paso horse show. Three more Incan sites are explored on walking tours in Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras.
A train ride to Aguas Calientes delivers travelers to Machu Picchu, with an overnight stay at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo. Hikes and climbs are offered. Two nights in Cusco at El Mercado Tunqui Hotel allow time for guided walking tours in the former capital and ruling center of the Inca Empire, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. A final tour in Lima adds a day of exploration and dining with guided tours of downtown and the historic center, also a UNESCO site.
Rates begin at $3,995 per person, double occupancy and include flights between Lima and Cusco, Machu Picchu train, exclusive transfers, hotels, most meals and activities.
