Savings of $600 per couple are offered on bookings made by July 31 for cruises departing from November to April, excluding holiday sailings on Dec. 20 and 27.
Cruises operate between Hawaii, the Big Island, and Molokai, or reverse, aboard Safari Explorer. The 36-passenger vessel is equipped with a swim step and water sports equipment, from kayaks to paddle boards. Expert naturalists will provide interpretation on guided excursions ashore and at sea.
Highlights include a night snorkel with giant Pacific manta rays and snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay where Capt. Cook was slain in 1779. Passengers can hike along a beach to a scenic, rocky overlook for sweeping views of neighboring bays on Lanai, visit Lanai City and the Lanai Culture and Heritage Center and explore the old town of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
In the Humpback National Marine Sanctuary, expedition cruising allows time for seeking humpback whales, dolphins, green sea turtles and other marine life. Passengers can tour the historic town of Lahaina, Maui, and take a turn paddling a traditional outrigger canoe.
Exclusive tours enable Un-Cruise passengers to see the traditional ways of life and meet the local people of Molokai.
Embarking or disembarking at Molokai allows time for an evening and full day of cultural activities on this less-visited isle. Passengers may hike to a secluded waterfall in sacred Halawa Valley or spend time at Anakala Pilipo’s home, taking time to 'talk story' and learn how to make poi from taro root.
An evening pa‘ina (a traditional Hawaiian feast) at Molokai Museum and Cultural Center offers local cuisine including fresh fish, poi, seaweed, Molokai sweet potatoes and other staples of the Hawaiian diet. Local musicians and a kumu hula dancer entertain.
Fares start at $3,595 per person, double occupancy, and include premium spirits, fine wines and microbrews, massage, yoga, guided tours, transfers, lei greeting and port charges and taxes.
