'Jonette embodies everything that is stellar in the travel industry, and is admired by suppliers and agents alike for her unending commitment to quality, customer service and integrity,' said Glen Moroney, founder and owner of Scenic Cruises.

Shepherd has been gm of Unique Travel for 20 years. Under her leadership and with the support of owners Sally and Dan Goldwasser, Unique Travel has grown from three advisers to a team of 65. The agency has been recognized by various cruise lines, hoteliers and tour operators as a sales leader.

Shepherd's goal to be a top travel adviser began 30 years ago at her kitchen table with a speaker phone, a crate of brochures and a dream to be the best. She called serving as Scenic Jade's godmother the pinnacle of her travel industry career.

'I am thrilled Scenic has chosen a working professional in our industry as godmother of such an important ship and even more thrilled that it is our general manager, Jonette Shepherd,' employee Sarah Fitzpatrick said. She added that while it is wonderful to have celebrities and dignitaries as godparents, 'it is so intuitive that Scenic reinforces their strong relationship with the travel industry and truly shows the respect for the travel agency community by choosing a travel professional as incredible as Jonette.'

Scenic ‘Space-Ships’ are designed and built by leading Dutch specialist river cruise shipyard, De Hoop.
