After dancing right along and raising a toast to the crowd, Royal Caribbean International CEO Michael Bayley said: 'Welcome to the party that never ends!'

'World's biggest weekend'

Bayley called Utopia of the Seas 'the world's biggest weekend.' This sixth Oasis-class ship is the first to debut on short cruises.

The festivities kicked off with bagpipers — a Royal Caribbean tradition — and continued with the DJs spinning a stream of rock anthems, from Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' and Queen's 'We Will Rock You' to Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and Run-DMC's 'Walk This Way.'

People pumped their arms, sang along and danced on all levels of the AquaTheater, including around a gigantic inflated tropical cocktail. AquaTheater swimmers, divers and an aerialist put on a splashy show.

Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty acknowledged Chairman Richard Fain, 'our GOAT,' saying his fingerprints were on Utopia's design, and thanked Bayley ('You really delivered'), the newbuild team led by Harri Kulovaara and Kelly Gonzalez, Chantiers de l'Atlantique's Laurent Castaing, Port Canaveral and 'our Utopians, our crew.'

Liberty introduced 'super Mom' Meghan Trainor, whose young son and husband were there, and gave a nod to the 52 fans (one for every week of the year) who won a Royal Caribbean sweepstakes to attend the naming.

Disco ball and a sparkly ukelele

Then a large disco ball floated over the crowd, triggering the Champagne smash and flurries of purple, blue and pink confetti. Those watching the disco ball may have missed the smash, that was aired on big screens.

'All About That Base'

Trainor capped the event by performing her debut single and No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit 'All About That Base,' while strumming a sparkly silver ukelele. She's scheduled to give a big concert Wednesday evening in the AquaTheater while Utopia is alongside at Perfect Day at CocoCay.
