‘We arranged the Quantum of the Seas to enter the harbour from the west, giving Hong Kong residents a good view of the largest cruise ship to visit Asia, and the guests on board the best of Hong Kong’s impressive city skyline,’ said K.F. Chan, general manager Wallem Ship Agency Hong Kong, which is providing port husbandry services for Royal Caribbean’s 168,666gt vessel call in Hong Kong and also earlier in the week in Singapore.

The special arrangement required agreement from the Hong Kong Maritime Department. Ships berthing at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal would normally enter from the east.

‘Once the cruise ship is safely alongside, the guests will explore our iconic city, with an overnight stay before departing on Sunday at 3.00pm.

Quantum, set to be based in Shanghai, will return to Hong Kong in December 2015.
