The vessel is carrying crew and passengers fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

With this, half of Windstar's six-yacht fleet is now back in service.

An air and hotel package from Los Angeles International Airport includes a round-trip Air Tahiti Nui flight, pre-cruise accommodations and a post-cruise day room, ground transfers in Tahiti, and a seven-, 10- or 11-night cruise.

Now, with air and hotel packages booked during a promotional period ending July 30, passengers also receive a free beverage package (unlimited select spirits, wine, beer, cocktails and minibar items). If travelers don’t imbibe, they can instead choose a shipboard credit to put toward experiences like a spa treatment or shore excursions such as scuba diving, reef snorkeling or harvesting Tahitian black pearls.

Star Breeze limited engagement

Windstar typically sails year-round from Tahiti with the motorized sailing yacht Wind Spirit. However, the line's recently extended and updated all-suite Star Breeze, with capacity for 312 passengers, will operate a limited engagement there from Sept. 19 to March.

Windstar includes a private event on Tahiti cruises: a beach party and locally sourced feast on one of Bora Bora’s tiny motus, followed by a kinetic fire-dancing performance. This is available on all sailings/both yachts.

'Because French Polynesia is such a popular destination for romance, most guests book these itineraries quite far in advance, leading to lots of pent-up demand on a limited-space small yacht after a year of canceled honeymoons and anniversary trips,' Windstar President Chris Prelog said. 'These intimate cruises are filling fast.'

Windstar is returning to operations in a phased manner, with its six vessels debuting on various dates through November, while requiring passengers be fully vaccinated among a host of health and safety precautions including testing, social distancing, masks and high-tech air filtration.

On June 19, Wind Star resumed revenue operations in Greece, and on July 10, Star Breeze began sailing in the Caribbean. Wind Surf is scheduled to sail in the Mediterranean starting Aug. 8, Star Legend in Northern Europe on Sept. 4 and Star Pride in the Caribbean Nov. 3.
