Adora Cruises unveiled the name of its second China-built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, in the city of Guangzhou in South China.

The ship, Adora's third, is slated for delivery by the end of 2026.

A milestone

The introduction of Adora Flora City represents a significant milestone for Adora Cruises. Set to offer international voyages from Guangzhou, the ship aims to provide guests with a unique journey that emphasises cultural exploration and is anticipated to become a prominent attraction for the city.

Flower City

Drawing inspiration from Guangzhou’s reputation as the Flower City, the name Adora Flora City reflects the vibrancy and beauty that the ship will embody.

Historically, Guangzhou served as a vital hub of the ancient maritime Silk Road, and in a symbolic nod to its rich local heritage and traditional Chinese culture, Adora Flora City will carry a message of discovery as it connects travelers with the wonders of the world.

Design

With 2,130 cabins capable of accommodating 5,232 guests at full capacity, Adora Flora City features expansive public spaces designed to enhance the onboard experience beyond that of its predecessor, Adora Magic City, which has sailed from Shanghai since January 1. The ship will offer more suites, state-of-the-art entertainment facilities, a double-sized atrium, and larger social spaces, creating a cosier cruise experience.

The interior and artwork will draw inspiration from the ancient Silk Road and Lingnan culture, with floral motifs throughout the vessel, creating a space full of vitality and creativity.

Yang Guobing, chairman of Adora Cruises, stated, ‘As China's premier cruise brand, we are dedicated to expanding our fleet, optimising deployment, and enhancing the guest experience. With Adora Flora City to be homeported in Guangzhou, we will further develop our 'Cruise + Culture' strategy, integrating Chinese culture and Silk Road elements to offer guests a diverse and personalised high-end cruise experience.’

Adora Mediterranea

On December 18, 2024 Adora Mediterranea is also set to depart from Guangzhou. Various itineraries are on offer, ranging from three days to six days, with routes that include popular destinations such as Hong Kong, Japan, and Vietnam, blending Mediterranean elegance with Chinese cultural charm.

The new deployment shows that Adora Cruises will sail from ports in China’s north, east and south.
