ALMACO installed furniture in 1,000 Carnival Jubilee cabins
ALMACO provided the manpower for fixed furniture installation in 1,000 Carnival Jubilee cabins last year.
ALMACO’s work on Carnival Jubilee began in May when a 26-strong team of ALMACO carpenters and electricians was contracted by Meyer Group to support Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, with catch-up work in the accommodation areas. The team boarded the ship two weeks later and achieved an installation speed of 15 cabins per day.
Project extended
The project later extended beyond furniture to include air supply connections, additional electrical works, ceiling enhancements, and cabin finishings. Execution of the project was carried out with a workforce of 55 individuals, maximum, including a site manager and an electrical supervisor, and finished in December.
Jean-Pierre Lepage, VP of accommodation modernisations at ALMACO, noted, ‘Our team's commitment allowed us to meet our targets. The completion of this project underscores ALMACO's dedication to delivering quality solutions and agility to mobilise a large site team in a very short time.’
Lepage went onto say that the synergy between ALMACO, Meyer Group and EMS Precab – specialising in making prefabricated cabins and wet units for cruise ships – was instrumental in the project's success. ‘The effort put forth by our team, combined with the shipyard's and our partners’ support, has resulted in an end-result we can all be proud of.’
Catering project
ALMACO also delivered a catering project in October, when Meyer Werft and Carnival Cruise Line chose the company to plan, design, build, supply and commission all the provision areas onboard the vessel. ‘The provision stores comply with the strictest USPH sanitation and safety requirements,’ commented Frédéric Vasseur, president of ALMACO’s catering division. ‘The system is also highly efficient and has a patented door solution that has been developed together with a preferred partner of ALMACO.’
