'We need to replace a large component of Celebrity Constellation's diesel engine that can only be done in drydock. Due to the shipyard's availability, we decided to cancel the short cruise so that we could perform the work in November,' a Celebrity spokeswoman said.
Passengers can rebook in like accommodations at the protected/lowest available rate on cruises departing Jan. 5 or 24, Feb. 7 or 21, or March 7. Those who rebook will receive $100 on-board credit per standard stateroom or $200 per suite.
Passengers who rebook and incur a fee due to the change in their airline reservations will be reimbursed up to $200 per person.
Those who cancel will get a full refund but no credit or airline change fee.
After its repair, Celebrity Constellation is due to resume service Nov. 24 from Port Everglades on a five-night western Caribbean cruise.
In a note to travel agents, Norwegian Cruise Line said Norwegian Sky has space available on short Bahamas cruises from PortMiami for displaced Celebrity Constellation clients.
