It will be the first of the series to enter service on short cruises, with a three-/four-day program from Port Canaveral with calls at Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

First of many parties

More than 1,600 crew members and workers came together in the AquaTheater where Royal Caribbean Group President/CEO Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean International President/CEO Michael Bayley and Chantiers de l’Atlantique GM Laurent Castaing hosted Utopia’s first party of many to recognize the achievements of the nautical engineers, designers, architects and others involved in the realization of the ship.

'From the ultimate multigenerational vacation on this year’s earlier debut of Icon of the Seas to now the ultimate weekend getaway on Utopia of the Seas, we are laser-focused on delivering a variety of vacation options and priceless memories for our guests,' Liberty  said.

Before its July 19 debut at Port Canaveral, Utopia will be undergoing finishing touches to get the ship party-ready.

With Utopia of the Seas, 'We have the keys to the ultimate weekend,' Bayley said. 'This is the short vacation that packs every way to make amazing memories in a three-night weekend or four-night weekday getaway.'

New features

New additions include Royal Railway – Utopia Station, a rail-dining adventure that's among the more than 20 dining options.

The Izumi in the Park pickup window makes its Oasis-class debut, with sushi and Japanese-inspired street food. Next door is the staple Izumi restaurant in its new Central Park location, with a private omakase multicourse experience, guided by the chef, double the teppanyaki tables and alfresco seating.

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar is in a new location, spanning two stories, and debuts the first Gio’s Terrazza for alfresco dining overlooking the Boardwalk.

Pesky Parrot is the new Caribbean tiki bar serving fruit-based cocktails made with rum, tequila and gin, alongside frozen drinks.

Even longer Ultimate Abyss

Five swimming pools, the Ultimate Abyss slide (43 feet longer, at 259 feet), the FlowRider surf simulator and the 10-story zip line are among many other features.

A seventh Oasis-class ship is on order for delivery in 2028.
